Spiced Tea
[from Hometown Cooking (an excerpt from Southern Settings the hometown cookbook from Decatur) this recipe is credited to Kathy Austin of Decatur Alabama]
2 cups water
3 inches of stick cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
3 tea bags
3/4 cup sugar
3 cups pineapple juice
3 cups orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
Ice (optional)
In a medium saucepan, combine water and spices. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover; simmer 5 minutes.
Remove from heat; add tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and spices Stir in sugar and juices. Cover and chill thoroughly.
Makes 8 (8 ounce) servings.
