Print this entryPrint this entry went to a pot luck and decided to bring this as I had everything at home. My changes in brackets. It was inhaled. Taco dip 1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning mix (used chili seasoning to taste + 1 tbsp flour) 1 lb ground beef water (used 1 cup) 1 (15 ounce) can refried beans 1 avocado, mashed (skipped) 1 cup cheddar cheese 1 (3 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained (skipped) 1 medium chopped tomato 1 cup sour cream 1 cup salsa 1/4 cup chopped green onion (skipped) added finely shredded lettuce In a frying pan, cook ground beef until no longer pink. Drain grease. Add taco mix and package amount of water and mix with beef. Add can of refried beans and mix until incorporated.Cook for 15 min stirring so it does not burn. In a 9×11 pan, (or I like to use my oval baking dish) put the ground beef mixture.Spread evenly. Add the remaining ingredients in the order given.(I sprinkled it with the cheddar and tomato, then put dollops of sour cream and all over and spread out with a knife, poured salsa, I had a fire roasted one open so that is what I used, and sprinkled an edge of lettuce for decoration). Spread the avocado and the sour cream with a spreading knife. Served with corn scoops

Print this entryPrint this entry I have not tried these, just got the recipe from a friend. I am willing to cut this in half and give it a shot though…How about you? Be cautious if you use weed killer or fertilizer on your lawn. You may have to borrow from a neighbor who doesn’t, but you might be able to get by with that if you offer some donuts in exchange for dandelions! DANDELION DONUTS 1. Remove the yellow flowers from dandelion flower heads by squeezing them out as you roll the green base between your thumb and forefinger. Discard the bitter tasting green flower base and stem, save the yellow flowers until you have one cup. 2. Heat oil to 375 3. Mix together 2 cups biscuit mix, 2 eggs, and 1 cup of milk. Stir in 1 cup of flowers. 4. Drop by teaspoonful into hot cooking oil. 5. turn when light golden brown. 6 drain on paper towel. roll in sugar & cinnamon or powder sugar. MAKES 40 donuts! Cut according to your needs.

Print this entry [Okay, the visual mode won't let me publish, so let's try it this way ... ] Surprise Corn Pudding 2 cans (15 oz. each) whole-kernel corn, drained 1/4 cup flour 1 tablespoon cornmeal 3 tablespoons sugar 3 tablespoons butter, melted 3/4 cup milk (or half-and-half) 2 eggs 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon vanilla Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a shallow baking dish (2-quart size) and set aside. In a food processor or blender, process half of the drained corn until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Combine with the rest of the corn, flour, cornmeal, sugar, and butter in a bowl, mixing well. In another bowl, whisk together all other ingredients, then stir into the corn mixture. Spoon combined mixture into the greased baking dish. Place in oven and bake until set, about 35 minutes. Serves 8. Original recipe found in From Black Tie to Blackeyed Peas: Savannah’s Savory Secrets (Nashville, TN: Favorite Recipes Press, 2000)
