Have you ever used foil pans to bake in?  Did it turn out the same as any metal or glass pan?  I know they offer a great convenience at this time of year (or whenever you bake-n-take) but I’m not 100 percent confident that they will produce the same results.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Marian,  I don’t have an answer for you but am also interested in what others have to say.  Those pans have been rarely used here either, and they would be really convenient.

the only time I have used them is for my banana cake which makes one 9X13 pan and an 8×8 one. As I generally give away the 8×8 I have made it in a foil one and I have not noticed any difference. I bake both at the same time. I should note that my 9×13 pan is also aluminum

I do this if I’m giving the cake away.  But a hint!  If you do bake in a foil pan put the foil pan on a solid cookie sheet so it won’t sag in the middle.

I use foil pans all the time since I don’t bake that much any more and give my pans away or my dear darling son killed them in one of his kitchen ‘experiments”  He can cook pretty well but sometimes he leaves the empty pan in the oven, forgets to turn the oven off and …….:D I cone into smoke alarms beeping like crazy and all the windows open with fans going fut the food is delicious.
BTW I don’t notice any difference in the texture or flavour of the baked goods.

I have used the pans for years when giving cakes away.  They bake beautifully.  When my grandkids were young, they would bake cakes in the pans, decorate the cakes, and then have a surprise to take home to mom and dad.

Thanks to everyone who replied.  I am now confident that this is the way to go for my holiday baking give-aways.
