Lifelike Baby Dolls

Author: Me again…..sorry. I’m considering getting my Mom one of these to have with her at the home. I can’t tell online which one would be right and feel like a baby girl in her arms again. I’m really not interested in an expensive collectable as it may be stolen at some point. People walk off with things in an Altzheimer Unit…. We’ve had three sons, and I’m clueless. Any suggestions or sites to check out? Thanks so much

Sorry, no advice about the baby dolls. Have you looked at them in a store?
Does she talk about her baby or do you think this might just be something to bring her comfort? When we had a family member in an Alzheimer facility, one of the patients had a stuff dog and took it everywhere. Amazing how something so simple can be so comforting.

I need to get to the stores and look. Mom has been so taken with a doll given to her by a friend that sits on the chest at the foot of her bed. That doll is cute but is stiff and hard as a rock. Just thought a more real feeling cuddly one might be a good thing for her. She doesn’t talk about having us as babies. It’s just the fascination with that doll. Really not sure what to make of it nor am I sure she would want one to cuddle. It’s difficult to discern what would make a good Christmas gift at this point…well, other than her chocolates! That’s a given! We keep 5 lbs. of her Daffins chocolates all the time on hand for her. Not good for her teeth, but it’s the one thing she craves and desires. She’s almost 88, if she wants chocolate, so be it! Thanks for the good wishes
My mother loved cats! When my mom was in a nursing home a friend gave her a fuzzy stuffed cat and she absolutly loved it. Perhaps a type of soft doll would be good for you mother, Sherry. I would visit the various toy stores or sections in your area.

Also, Sherry, I got a Build a Bear Westie that is soft and cuddly. At BAB stores you can make a lot of stuffed animals besides bears.
in the doll category, go to WalMart, KMart or Target to find cloth bodied dolls. Daycare kids love the soft body ones most.

Hmm…I’ve never heard of the BAB site. Must check that out. I’m behind times as usual these days. Mom has a lot of stuffed animals already. They play Bingo and she wins a lot it seems. Prizes vary but she seems to be given or picks the stuffed animals. That baby doll is what has grabbed her attention. If I can ever get a day to shop for other than groceries, this should be a fun thing to do…cuddling baby dolls in the stores! Thank you for your replies….
