Our Pastor is severely allergic to peanuts/peanut butter but can eat all other nuts with no problems. Hope that helps answer your question. Of course, that could differ from person to person I would suppose…
Peanuts are legume so they are in a different family than a lot of other nuts which are tree nuts.
Some people are allergic to all nuts while others are only allergic to peanuts.
Sunflower seeds and other seeds are yet another family!
Food families are complicated and it is surprising how some foods are related. It is confusing.
Thanks for the input ladies I have a new recipe I want to try for my dad as a Christmas treat but it had peanuts in it and peanuts and he just don’t get along so I am glad I can use pecans instead.
