Missing our friends…
…so much since we have the new format. Don’t think for one second that you are not missed around here. I have such fond memories when I browse my binders and files. This world is truly filled with wonderful people….and I’ve met so many of you right here at Mimi’s. And you may not even know how much your presence meant to some of us… Missing family isn’t a good thing! Please get found! I’m getting too old to go out on a world hunt to find you all!!! All the best forever to you wherever you are… Just feeling a bit sentimental this evening, and that’s a good thing
Sherry, I miss our friends too. I keep hoping they will return and give this new format a chance.
I miss the friendly conversations and the good recipes.
There is something very special and comforting to be able to come to a site where you feel like you are surrounded by friends.
We had been losing members well before the new format came in. I hoe we can regain them.
JB
JB, you are so right about members drifting away before the new format. I think as life changes for everyone, cooking changes too. Kids grow up and move away, health changes, etc.
I hope with the holidays approaching, our friends will come back.
Mimi’s was my very first ever cyber-kitchen so I feel kind of a loyalty. You all have seen me through some pretty rough times over the years. It’s been great therapy along with a wealth of info and recipes. I just really appreciate this kitchen being here and friends gained through this site. I know that I have way more recipes than I’ll ever use in my lifetime. It’s about more than just the recipes. You’re right, life changes a lot over the days and years. Hopefully everyone is doing well wherever they are and can pop back in now and then. Happy fall to all!
Not just cooking here. Sometimes when I am in need of a hug I can come here and just read something that makes me a little more cheery and other times I can reach out and know somebody will grab my hand.
Oh another thing. Helping SherryPa with her party plans,so much fun.
And NO ONE any other place has helped as much as you all have. How I wished you could have all joined us for the 50′s celebration, the luau, etc. This truly is an amazing place. And ABBE, I’ll be happy to grab your hand every chance I get! And this is not to say that we don’t ‘have a life’ and there aren’t a zillion other things happening in our lives. This is that special place we can come for that time out and take a deep breath before having to dive back in. So much can be said for this little corner of the world.
You gals have been with me through some of the toughest times of my life- when my dear DH left me in 2001 and those years of being single before I found a sweet man who I married in 2007. You have been such a blessing to me. Plus, our Ornament Exchange is something I have looked forward to each and every year. How much fun is Opening Day? It’s like a holiday all of its own! Becky said it well (as you all did) that there is something so special about coming to a site where you are (paraphrasing) among friends. You truly are my friends.
