Jello – Just curious
When you make Jello, do you like to make it in a round or square dish?
Or do you just make it in whatever dish is handy?

I use whatever. Square, round, Bundt cake pan. Depends on what I’m making and what mood I’m in.
pepe, I tend to make plain jello in a round dish but I have some salad recipes I make in round or square. A bundt pan – that would be pretty!
It has been a long time, but I used to make it in a bundt cake pan with fruit in the jello, then fill the center with either a jello and whipped topping mix, or fresh fruit. Looks real pretty for things like christmas with green jello and red filled center. Can’t use it durning the summers here though, to hot.
Usually in an oval dish because it fits well and looks pretty. Never considered a bundt pan, but it would be pretty. I know they aren’t “in style”, but I love Jell-O salads!
You know, I hardly ever use my round bowls. I have two of the Corningware French white oven-proof bowls/casseroles and I rarely use them. I have no clue why I don’t.
Oh, the red and green for Christmas would be pretty.
Patti, I like jello salads too – I don’t care if they are in style.
I was given a couple of mold pans for jell-o. Haven’t tried to use them yet.
I almost always use a square dish but I do have some very nice molds. Well I used to but gave them to my daughter since they were copper.
The molds I was given are copper colored, not sure if they are really copper. They are pretty and I need to try using them one of these days.
DH really dislikes jello so that puts a damper on making jello unless it’s mixed with cream cheese, fruit and whipped cream. That probably won’t be happening much around here anymore anyway since we learned last week that he’s diabetic. Never a dull moment in this life. No problem, now I just need to learn to cook all over again! I do have a lot of molds that I’ve enjoyed using, especially the Tupperware one where you can make a hole in the middle to fill with desired fillings!
