Mimi’s Recipe Request Board has been active since 1995. That’s like 100 years old in Internet years.
Recently the old software has finally given up the ghost and no longer functions. I have installed this new version of the Board using the latest WordPress software. It includes all the old functionality with some new twists.
The only downside is that everyone will have to create a new account in order to post. It’s real easy. If you have any problem email me at jb@cookbooksplus.com.
I will be working hard to make the old version of the Board accessible for viewing.

Well, this is going to take some getting used to. Will there be different forums like before? Won’t really make any more comments until I can find my way around a bit more.

The different Forums that we sued to hav are now call Categories. I have set up the Recipe Requests as the default Category but I have also set up the Kitchen Table as a Category. I can set up the rest as needed.

JB, the red background makes it harder to read the letters in yellow. At least for me. Maybe you could change that.
I don’t see any text in yellow. Where is that on the screen?
I think Nalani is talking about the poor contrast of the green writing on the red background. I also, find it somewhat difficult to distinguish that contrast. Another colour may be the solution.
I so agree with you Nalani. I can hardly read them too. This is really strange, but I will try my best to adapt.

YAY! A new board! I like it! (Oh yeah, I used to be Pat T – but my real last initial is ‘B’ since my divorce in 2007).
JB, the yellow is between our name and our message. If you peer at it intently you can see it gives the date and time a person writes a message. And then uner our message it says reply. Maybe that could be in a very dark red, blue or green. Something like that.
Oh I see Marian is right it is a light green. A dark green would be better.

The yellow or gold color for reply is very hard to see. Your name is also that color, JB, and it is hard to see. The rest of the letters are easy to read.
It will take a little to get used to these new colors. The darker green is easier to see. The words “Reply” and “Leave a Reply” need to be darken too. IMO.
it took me a while to figure out that the site was not down, but reformatted. This new look is quite different, but it seems to be pretty user friendly.

! I am having a really hard time seeing some things. For example “Welcome Back” and “Reply” are hard to read. I know for sure that if I can’t even see things, I won’t be using the site. I’ll have to wander around a little – new things always bring out me little old lady! BTW – Kim Shook is the old kimberlyn59.
I can’t find where we would start a new thread or topic. Am I missing something?

When you log on you will see a check box that says “Remember Me”. If you click it you will not have to log on each time.

I found Mimi’s Recipes, but can’t find any others. What am I doing wrong?
There is a problem with the old Board that I am still working on. I will not get to it until the Weekend. The recipes are there but it is causing errors.

Much better, but still some things are the light green such as your name, JB. But it is much much better. I do like the pretty background color.
Ok, well things have changed again since I was on earlier. I like this much better. Thanks JB. Oh, Intrepidgal is trying to get back on too, but having some trouble.

*It has been awhile since I visited Mimi’s, and I’m glad I decided to stop by! The new board is really nice and I don’t think I will have a hard time to adjust. I have been spending a lot of time on Pinterest – do you have a board started there too? I guess recipes would have to have a picture associated with it in order to be beneficial on Pinterest, but I enjoy all the postings here at Mimi’s!
I think somebody already asked this, but how do we edit a post? Just in case I make a mistake in a recipe or spelling error, it was nice to be able to go back to make changes to the original post.

Just wondering how everyone is doing adjusting to the changes???? Really hoping we can get everyone adjusted and back to posting soon. I am SO technically challenged but am really beginning to enjoy the changes. Hopefully everyone will very soon!
I wonder if people just see the box with recent posts and move on without clicking on the links for the recipe board or kitchen table.
