Beef: One-Dish Oven Stew

One-Dish Oven Stew
Serves: 6

3/4 pound Round Steak -- trimmed and cubed
1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
4 medium Potatoes – cubed
5 medium Carrots -- sliced 1/2" thick
1 stalk Celery -- sliced 1/2" thick
1 large Onion – chopped
14 1/2 ounces Tomatoes, stewed – chunky
3 tablespoons Tapioca -- quick cooking
1 teaspoon Browning Sauce
1/8 teaspoon Black Pepper -- or more if needed
1 cup Peas, frozen


In a Dutch oven, brown the steak in the vegetable oil. Add the next eight ingredients and cover and bake at 300 degrees F for 4-5 hours, stirring twice. Add the peas during the last few minutes of baking
