Blackjack Barbecue Sauce

posted by Fred in CO 06-29-100 8:09 AM

Blackjack Barbecue Sauce

1 cup strong black coffee
1 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 Tbsp. chile powder
2 tsp. salt
2 cups finely chopped onion
6 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup minced chiles

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Puree in blender. Refrigerate between uses. Makes about 5 cups.

NOTE: Depending on how much kick you want, you can use different types of chiles... for mild, use jalapenos, for wild, use habaneros.
