Canned Apple Pie Filling

Canned Apple Pie Filling

4 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup cornstarch
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
10 cups water


Blend together: All ingredients listed above in a pot. Cook and stir until bubbly. Add 3 tablespoons lemon juice. Fill Quart-size jars with sliced apples. Use the above mixture as syrup. Seal, and process for 20 minutes.
