Apple: Mock Apple Pie

Mock Apple Pie
2 cups water
2cups sugar
2 tsp. cream of tarter
1 unbaked pie shell
cinnamon or apple pie spice
butter.
30-35 broken Ritz crackers
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Bring water, sugar, and cream of tarter to a boil in a large saucepan. Add broken Ritz crackers, and boil 1 full minute.
Pour into unbaked pie shell; sprinkle with cinnamon or apple pie spice. Dot with butter. Bake at 375º till pie crust is done.
