Fruit: Easter Nests

posted by Sue Freeman 04-13-100 7:03 AM

Easter Nests
cooking show Jaques and something.

4 leaves of pyllo dough
5 tablespoons melted butter
5 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
fresh berries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Roll up the phyllo and cut them into 1/2-inch strips all the way down the roll. Put them on a greased cookie sheet and kept tossing them to separate the strips so it looked like a huge birds nest. It is important to make sure the strips are separated and in a pile.

Sprinkle the melted butter over the top. Mix the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top; toss the whole mess so it is coated in cinnamon, sugar and butter.

Put the rim of a tart pan around it and enclose it within the circle and pat it down making a slight well in he center. It ends up looking like a cake layer with a slight indentation in the middle leaving about 1 inch on all sides slightly higher.

Bake it for 20 to 30 minutes at 350 {until golden brown) and then removed it and the pan cover and let it cool.

Place fresh berries on top and piped on whipped cream.
