Apple Butter

Apple Butter recipe by Lisa Bowley
4 pounds cooking apples
1/4 C butter
1 C sugar
3 1/2 tsp cinnamon
5 whole cloves
1 1/4 C water
Peel, core, and chop apples.Put into a large saucepan with rest of ingredients, and cook over low heat until apples are soft. Remove cloves. Beat mixture until smooth and creamy. Bring to a boil then pour into warm sterilized jars and seal immediately.
