Bread Pudding: Apple Pudding

Apple Pudding

3 cups half and half
3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup almond paste, crumbled
5 eggs, mixed
1 loaf French style bread, cubed
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp almond extract
2 Granny Smith apples, chopped
1 1/2 cups sliced almonds


Put cubed bread in a 9 inch springform pan. In bowl, mix eggs, sugar, half and half and almond paste. Make sure almond paste is mixed in really well and not in lumps. Add all spices and almond extract. Pour egg mixture over bread. Mix well with your fingers, pushing bread down. Add cut apples and 3/4 cup almonds. Mix well again with your fingers. Top with rest of almonds. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.
