posted by donnie 12-21-99 7:28 AM

Cabbage Casserole

1 -2 lbs hamburger, browned
1 medium onion
salt & pepper to taste
1 (10 3/4 oz) can tomato soup
1/2 - 3/4 can water
3 Tablespoons raw rice
cabbage, shredded (coarsely)

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Brown hamburger in large frying pan, add onion salt and pepper. Stir until onion is partially cooked.

Meanwhile chop cabbage coarsely. Place enough in the bottom of a greased casserole dish to cover the bottom and maybe 1/4-1/2 way up the side. (2 - 2 1/2" thick). Add tomato soup, water and rice to the hamburger and mix well.

Pour hamburger mixture into casserole on top of cabbage. Do not stir.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Serve with crusty buns.
