BEST BARBECUE BEANS

4 slices bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/3 to 1/2 cup PACE picante sauce, as desired
2 tablespoons catsup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
2 cans (16 ounces each) pork and beans in tomato sauce

Preheat oven to 350.

Cook bacon in medium skillet until crisp; drain, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings.

Cook onion in reserved drippings until tender but not brown.

Crumble bacon; add to skillet with picante sauce, catsup, brown sugar and cumin. Mix well.

Add beans; bring to a boil. Place in a casserole dish and cook in for about 25 minutes or until thickened to desired consistency.

Makes 6 to 8 servings, about 4 cups of beans.
