Baked-Stuffed Apples (Pareve)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Baking Time: 20-30 minutes
6 Cortland or other baking apples, cored almost to the bottom, but not through
1/8 cup each of 2 or 3 dried fruits of your choice, such as chopped apricots,
	dates, currants, cherries, cranberries, etc.
1/4 cup chopped nuts such as walnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios, etc.
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/8 cup pure maple syrup
1/2 cup water
Place the cored apples in a glass baking dish. Pour the water around the apples.
Mix the fruits and nuts together and toss with the brown sugar. Divide equally
among the apples.
Mix the lemon juice and maple syrup together and drizzle over the apples and
fruit.
Bake at 325 degrees until apples are soft; about 20-30 minutes.
