Salad: Hearts of Lulav (Palm) - pareve

Posted by : Ruth Heiges

I found the name of this recipe amusing, so I saved this
from a past issue of Jewish Communication Network. I
recommend visiting the site. Along with the fact that
Rabbi Gil Marks is the food correspondent, there are a lot
of interesting and enjoyable topics, including special ones
for Succot.

Hearts of Lulav (Palm) Salad
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 cans hearts of palm, chilled and cut into 3/4-inch pieces
1  head romaine lettuce
Red, yellow and green peppers
Black and green olives
Dressing
~~~~~~~~
Mix together:

1 part lemon juice to 3 parts olive oil
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon cilantro
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Arrange pepper rings and olives around palm pieces on large
platter lined with lettuce.

Pour dressing over all.
