If any food can remind me the hot summer in Tehran, it will
certainely be the snacks we used to buy from street vendors.

GERDU : Peeled Walnuts
Shell the walnuts, wash and soak in boiling water for a whole day.
Remove the thin peel and reserve in a recipient covered with water.
Serve with salt.
Use fresh walnuts if possible.

BALAL : roasted Corn
On a charcol fire roast very young Corn on the cob.
When ready plunge in a big bowl of cold salted water, present on corn
leaves.

TCHAGALEH BADOUM : Unriped Almonds
Very popular in Israel too, but mainly for preserves.
Serve it with salt

GODJEH SABZ :Sour unripe plums
The small green sour plums are eaten with salt too.

The fact of eating green unripe fruits were driving my mother
crazy......
But it was soooooooo tasty !
