Cucumber Salad (Simple Jewish Pickles) - pareve

Posted by : Barbara

4 cucumbers
1 yellow onion,sliced thinly
3/4 cup sugar
1/2cup water
1 cup white vinegar
1/2 tsp.dried dill or a little more
Peel and slice the cucumbers (thinly). Mix with the onion ( in a glass
bowl). Mean while in a pot bring the sugar, water, vinegar and dill to a boil.
Pour over the cucumber and onion mix,and chill.(I sprinkle a little dill
over the cucumber and onion mix before I add the hot liquid.))
It adds to the flavor.I also tried a white onion, that gave the pickles a
different taste.
Enjoy
