Cookies: Honey-Almond-Date Bars - pareve

 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
 1 teaspoon baking powder
 1/4 teaspoon salt
 4 eggs
 1 cup honey
 2 teaspoons almond extract
 1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
 1 cup almonds, chopped
 confectioners' sugar for decoration
 oil or margarine for greasing the baking pan

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Prepare 13" X 9 " X 2" baking pan by
coating lightly with margarine or oil.

Mix flour, baking powder and salt and set aside. 

In a separate bowl, beat eggs until thick and lemon colored.  Add honey
and almond extract and continue to beat until well-blended. 
                   
Gradually add the flour mixture blending well. Stir in dates and
almonds. Spread evenly in prepared pan. 
                   
Bake 12-15 minutes until lightly brown on top. Cool 2 minutes in pan.
Cut into bars. When cool, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
