Cake: Apple-Walnut Torte - pareve

Posted by : Karen Selwyn

This simple recipe appeals to me on two counts: it's easy and it looks
like a good candidate to experiment with substituting honey for sugar.

The original version of the recipe appears below. In a separate post,
I'll share the industry guidelines for subsituting honey for sugar.

Archivist's Note: See TIPS & SOLUTIONS section.

3/4 cup sugar
1 cup sliced apples, peeled and cored
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup flour
Pinch salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Combine beaten egg with sugar and apples. Stir in the remaining
