Cookies: Black Forest Brownies - pareve

   1/2    Cup           Crisco Or Other Shortening
   4      Each          Unsweetened Baking Chocolate Squares
   4      Large         Egg
   1      Teaspoon      Vanilla Extract
   1      Cup           Matza Cake Flour
   3/4    Cup           Fruit Preserves**
   2      Teaspoons     Kirsch Or Slivovitz (Plum Brandy)

Grease and dust with unsweetened cocoa a 9X13 baking pan and set
aside.Preheat oven to 325.
In a doubleboiler melt the shortening and unsweetened chocolate together
and let cool slightly.
With a mixer beat the eggs and sugar until thick. Add the chocolate
mixture follwed by the matza flour and vanilla. Pour into prepared
pan, Blend together the kirsch and preserves. Drop by spoonfuls over the
batter (do not stir in).
Bake for 30 minutes. Let cool and sprinkle with confectioner's
sugar. Cut into 24 equal pieces.

 NOTES : **cherry,apricot or raspberry work well
