I would like to recommend a great cookbook _The Spice and Spirit_  Published
by Lubavitcher Women's Cookbook Association ISBN 0-8266-0238-X

Nice Features:
-Detailed, but easy to read section on kashrut basics and how to set up a
kosher kitchen. This includes instructions on how to kasher as well.
-Explanation of how kashrus supervision works.
-Section on food blessings.
-Special section on baking Challa, including all the relevant laws.
Illustrated so you can get those perfect braids!
-Divided into easy to use section: dairy recipes, soups, parve, meat, side
dishes, desserts etc...
-Lovely section on the observance of Shabbat and traditional Shabbat menus.
-Sections on all the holidays and their customs plus suggested menus.
-Very wide range of different Jewish cuisine. Some very nice Sephardi
recipes are included.
-Glossary of Jewish food terms.
-The recipes are very easy to follow and include many traditional favorites.
