Kishke, Aunt Anne's - meat

My Aunt loved to cook - this was one of her favorite recipes 
  
1 cup white flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. - Plus - pepper
1/2 medium onion
4 - 6 tbsp. cold water
schmaltz [rendered chicken fat]

Fry chopped onion in chicken fat until lightly browned -- 
cool -- Add a further few tablespoons chicken fat to the
warm onions. Place  dry ingredients in bowl, add onions 
and schmaltz. Add the 4 - 6 Tbsp. cold water and mix well.
Wet hands and form into balls and place between meat or
chicken or tzimmes or brisket etc.
Place in 350*F oven and bake for 1 1/2 hr. covered.
Reheats well.
