Brisket, Tzippy's - meat

Posted by : Betsey Carus

This is very easy and I will actually be having this for Purim. It is
also good for any holiday or Shabbos. This recipe originally came from
Tzippy who is the daughter of a friend of mine (both are fantastic
cooks). Great for any meal when you want to cook ahead. It is good
served with mashed potatoes or rice since the gravy is very tasty.

TZIPPY'S FRENCH SQUARE CUT

Place on bottom of pot:
1 onion, cut up
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup vinegar
1 cup catsup
1 cup water
1 T salt
1 clove garlic, minced
Mix up.

Place brisket on top.
Bring to boil, cook slow at least 3 hours until tender. Test for
doneness with a fork.
Cool.
Skim fat.
Slice cold.
Warm and serve.
