This is a real old fashioned recepie in that 'you want more, you make
more' so the measurements are just approximate.
Filling:
3-4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 medium onion, chopped
10-12 medium mushrooms (any variety) chopped
salt and pepper, to taste.
Boil the potatoes and mash them. Saute the onion and mushrooms in a
mixture of half oil and half chicken shmaltz (optional) until very soft.
Mash into potatoes. Season to taste.
Purchase a package of prepared puff pastry squares. Fill the pastry with
the potatoes and fold over and pinch closed. Bake at 400 for 10-15
minutes, until puffed and golden.
You can also make this recepie with a cheese filling, but omit the
smaltz.
Enjoy!
