Oriental Plum Sauce

  • 1-1/2 pounds ripe plums, halved, pitted and cut into wedges
  • 1 T. water
  • 3 T. honey
  • 2 t. grated, pared, fresh ginger
  • 1/8 t. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 T. soy sauce
Combine plums, water, honey, ginger, pepper flakes and garlic in medium saucepan.

Bring to boiling. Lower heat; cover and simmer 5 to 10 minutes until plums are soft. Remover from heat.

Stir in soy sauce. Cool slightly.

Pour mixture into blender or food processor; process until smooth.

If not using immediately, refrigerate in tightly covered container up to 1 week.
