There will be several criteria for selecting products which will be featured on these evaluation pages:

I am always on the lookout for items that are worthy of sharing with you.

How do I decide what items to test?  Sometimes, I will purchase an item for my own use, and if I find it to be outstanding, I will tell you about it.  Occasionally, a manufacturer will approach me with something that is new on the market or simply new to me.  If I think it's interesting (or if I think you will), I will agree to put it to the test in my own kitchen, or perhaps I will pass it along to someone whom I feel is more qualified to evaluate it.  Agreeing to evaluate any product is no guarantee it will appear in this section.

Am I being paid to critique anything?  Never!  To receive remuneration of any kind for an evaluation compromises the validity of any evaluation and is little more than paid advertising.  While I do accept sponsorship on my website, my standards in this particular section will not be tainted.  It should also be noted that I will only accept sponsors whose products I can vouch for, and I will never mislead you, the consumer.  This is the only way I can remain worthy of your trust.

What about negative aspects of certain products?  It should be understood that I will not hold back if I have a problem with a product; the overall tone of the reports you will find here will be positive, often glowing.  I have no desire to "trash" an item, so if it's not to my liking, I will follow the age-old advice and say nothing—it's just possible it could appeal to someone else.  My purpose is to highlight the best of what you may be looking to buy, or call your attention to those things which might incline you to make a quality purchase.

What kinds of items will I evaluate?  Pretty much anything that pertains to the kitchen, whether it be food (fresh, frozen, canned, boxed, etc.) or appliances (small or large, though I don't foresee evaluating large items in the near future as my space is limited)...or even items which are decorative in nature.  This is, after all, a food-related site, beginning to end.

Does everything evaluated here come as the result of manufacturer interest?  No.  Whether I purchase the item or receive it for evaluation purposes will have little to do with deciding what to highlight for you.

No matter how an item comes to my kitchen, you can count on my honesty and integrity.  If you have a problem with any evaluations here, I want to hear from you.  I can't promise to change my mind...or my report; it's possible I have overlooked certain criteria, but equally possible that my experience is different.  Either way, I am open-minded and will consider all correspondence carefully.
