Vegetable Beef Soup 
2 to 3 lbs of stew meat 
1/4 cup of butter 
3 quarts of water 
1 tsp. pepper 
1 TBSP. salt 
1 1/2 cups chopped carrots 
3 medium sized potatoes peeled and cubed 
1 cup of chopped celery 
1/4 cup of dried onions 
1/2 cup barley 
6 cubes of beef bouillon 
Pressure Cooker method:  Brown meat in butter.  Add all remaining ingredients.  Pressure cook for 20 minutes. 
Crockpot method:  In a saucepan, brown meat in butter.
 
Combine browned meat and juices in a crockpot with remaining ingredients and cook on low for several hours.
Stovetop method:  In a stockpot, brown meat in butter.  Add
remaining ingredients and simmer on stove over low heat for 2 to 3 hours.
