Smoked Sausage and Corn Chowder

12 ounces fully-cooked smoked beef sausage -- cut in 1/2" slices 
1 cup sliced green onions 
2 teaspoons vegetable oil 
2 cans vegetable broth (14-1/2 ounces each) 
2 cups frozen potatoes O'Brian 
1 can cream-style corn (13-1/2 to 15 ounce) 
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper 
1/2 cup heavy cream 
In a large saucepan, cook onions in oil over medium heat 3 to 4 minutes or until tender. Stir in sausage, broth, potatoes, corn and red pepper. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, 20 minutes. 
Stir in cream; heat through. 
Garnish with additional sliced green onion, if desired. 
Serves 4
