Garlic Soup 
2 tbl. butter 
4 tbl. olive oil 
1/2 lb. ham (ground or cut in cubes) 
15 large cloves garlic, cut in half 
1/2 cup chopped onion 
2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed 
6 cups chicken stock 
1 pt. half and half 
salt and pepper to taste 
Saute ham, onion,garlic and potatoes in butter and olive oil for 15 minutes in large soup pan. 
Add stock and cook l hour. 
Puree in blender. 
Add half and half.  Heat and season to taste. 
Serve with crusty bread.
