Taco Soup

recipe attributed to Roxanne Barone 
2 lb ground beef 
1 medium onion, finely chopped 
1 can, 28 oz, tomatoes 
1 can, 15 oz, tomato sauce 
1 c water 
1 can, 15 oz, pinto beans, rinsed and drained 
1 can, 15 1/4 oz, whole kernel corn, drained 
1 envelope taco seasoning 
Optional ingredients: 
Shredded cheddar cheese 
sliced avocado 
chopped tomato 
Serve with: corn chips 
Brown ground beef and onion in large sauce pan; drain. 
Puree tomatoes in their own liquid. Add to pan: pureed tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, beans, corn and taco seasoning. Bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. 
If desired, top each serving with optional ingredients and serve with chips. 
Makes 10 servings or 2 1/2 quarts.
