Vidalia Onion Salad 
4 Vidalia onions -- thinly sliced 
2 Tablespoons Sugar -- to start with 
3/4 Cup Salad Oil 
1/4 Cup Vinegar 
1 Cup Feta Cheese -- crumbled 
1/8 Teaspoon Pepper -- freshly ground 
1/2 Teaspoon Salt -- to taste 
Mix all ingredients together.  Put into a 2-qt. covered dish and chill at least 24 hours, stirring occasionally.  Adjust sugar to taste.
