Chicken in Pastry

Filling:

1-1/2 chicken breasts, cooked and cubed
2 teaspoons chives
8 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup milk
1 package refrigerated crescent rolls

Sauce:

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken stock


Preheat oven to 350 F.

To make filling, combine all ingredients (except crescent rolls).

Unwrap crescent roll dough and separate pieces, stretching slightly.

Place two tablespoons filling on each piece of pastry. Wrap pastry around filling, folding under corners and pinching edges to seal.

Bake until golden brown (about 20 minutes).

To make sauce, melt butter, add cornstarch, and stir until smooth. Add cream and stock. Cook until thickened over medium heat.

Spoon over chicken pastries.
