4-5 pounds lean beef roast (rump or rolled)
Basil, oregano, garlic salt and black pepper
1-4 oz. can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Rub roast with spices, place in a 350 degree oven on a rack for 1 hour (roast will be very rare.) Chill roast in refrigerator overnight, saving all the pan juices.
Slice as thin as possible and place in crock pot on low. Add pan juices, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and enough water to cover meat. Add spices to taste. Cook 4-6 hours. Also may be cooked on the stove in a covered Dutch oven on low heat.
Serve on hard rolls with your favorite toppings.
