Shirley Temple Bars

2 c.flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2c. brown sugar
1/2 c. melted butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. milk
1 c. chopped nuts
1 bag milk chocolate chips (12 oz.)
1 (12 oz.) jar marachino cherries, cut in half, drained


Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add sugars and melted butter; stir together well. Add eggs, vanilla and milk; blending well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in a greased (sprayed) 9x13 pan. Bake at 325* for 30 minutes. Test for doneness with a toothpick. Then glaze while warm.

Glaze:
2 c. powdered sugar
2T. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. melted butter or margarine


Combine and pour over bars.
