Sweet Bread Indian Fry Bread by Lori

3 cups sifted flour
1 T. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 cup warm water

Combine flour, baking powder and salt.

Add warm water a little at a time and knead by hand until a soft but not sticky dough forms.

Cover bowl and let stand 15 minutes.

Pull off egg-size balls of dough and roll into rounds 1/4 inch thick

Pierce several times with fork.

Fry in a heavy skillet with deep fat until bubbles form, turn and fry on other side.
