Smithfield Ham Spoon Bread

1/2 cup yellow corn meal
1/4 cup all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. double acting baking powder
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped Smithfield or other country ham

Combine corn meal, flour, salt and baking powder then sift. Beat egg and stir in. Add buttermilk and ham.
Bake at 375 degrees in oven until crusty for about 45 min.
