English Muffin Loaf

6 cups flour
2 pkgs. yeast
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups milk
1/2 cup water
cornmeal


Combine 3 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, salt and baking soda. Heat liquids until very warm (120-130 degrees). Add to dry ingredients. Stir in enough more flour to make stiff batter. Spoon into 2 greased loaf pans, sprpinkled with cornmeal. Cover, let rise in warm place for 45 minutes.

Bake 400 for 25 minutes. Remove from pans immediately after cooking and let cool.

Freezes well.
