Pork: Honey Pork Oriental

Honey Pork Oriental - 4 servings
French’s Recipe (winning recipe submitted by Linda Capson)

2 pounds pork shoulder steaks (or chops)
2 TBL oil
1 envelope French's Brown Gravy Mix
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup honey
3 TBL soy sauce
2 TBL red wine vinegar
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
4 carrots, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, cut up
1 green pepper, cut in squares
cooked rice

Cut pork in 1" pieces, discarding bones. Brown in oil in large skillet, stirring frequently, until brown (about 15 min.).

Combine brown gravy mix, water, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, ginger and garlic salt. Add to skillet, cover and cook 20 minutes. Add the carrots and onions, cooking another 10 minutes. Add green pepper and cook another 5+ minutes, keeping pepper slightly crisp. Serve with rice.
