Lisa's Family Eggrolls
1 small head cabbage-shredded
1 handful or container of bean sprouts-rinsed
4 stalks celery-diced
1/2 an onion-diced
5-6 mushrooms-sliced
1 (8 oz) can water chestnuts-cut in half
choice of meat: shrimp, chicken or pork-cubed (cooked)
Just steam all of your ingredients, about 15 minutes. This will make the filling a little soft and get rid of the excess liquid. Drain the filling.
Fill the shells--look at the picture on the back of the package--seal with a dab of water. Drop in a deep fat fryer until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
Eggroll wrappers are usually found in the produce section, by the salad in a bag stuff. This is a very forgiving recipe; use veggies you like. I have used carrots before, but the filling got a sweet taste.
